Technical drawing skills and knowledge of legal requirements to ensure machine safety is required. Typically, your daily tasks will be:
- For you to understand, define and coordinate the technical requirements for subcontracted development tasks – from design to build we look to you for your technical skills
- You will participate in projects working within a project team of up to 5 employees which may including internationally colleagues – so the ability to communicate clearly in English is a must
- You will develop concepts and solutions according to our clients’ specifications and needs – be that working on troubleshooting issues with our machinery, or designing and developing something new
- We would like you to have previous experience in the creation of and the maintenance of technical documentation – customers crave knowledge on machinery and the support we deliver during commissioning and aftercare is key to a successful relationship
- You will support our products throughout the entire product life cycle working hand in hand with our engineers, suppliers and customers
- Development and drawing skills in SolidWorks (any other design package welcome – these can all be taught) will be used when editing models and drawings
- Data management in our PDM system – we use Windchill (but again a PDM is a PDM we can show you how ours works when you join us)
- Knowledge of technical documentation and BOM management using an ERP
Qualifications
What we would like to see on your resume and in you when we meet …
- Ideally, we would like either a University or College Degree in mechanical engineering /mechatronics with professional experience in the areas mentioned above
- 3 years’ work experience in the development of designs ideally with mechanical machinery – we would like someone from the food sector, but this is a desirable and we welcome applicants that have worked in other sectors
- We require a solid knowledge of Mechanical Design technology to find innovative solutions for technical developments, combined with creativity and an interest in technical detail.
- Any design software knowledge welcome but Solidworks will give you a head start, as this is the package, we use the most
- Knowledge of curve design would be an advantage
- English language skills are a must – you will be conversing with colleagues, suppliers, and our clients from around the Globe – to be fluent in German is a requirement
- Use of MS Office packages as standard
- We would like someone who is structured, process and result oriented with an independent way of working
- Confidence, strong communication skills and natural people skills will fit in well
- Goes without saying that Design can be tough, you spend hours working on something only to get a “no” from someone else; resilience and flexibility will be key to success
