Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.
Responsibilities:
Work with sustenance team in India and global for model creation, drafting, tol stacks, GD&T for Connector Value streams
On time and to quality deliveries of Engineering output (Drawings, Models)
Use of engineering tools in execution of sustenance projects
Maintenance of engineering drawings, documents, models via PLM tools and TE systems and methodologies
Technical support on product design, form and function in discussion with plant team members
To provide sustaining activities on existing product ranges: EN & MIL AERO Connectors. Involves working closely with cross functional team in plant to provide engineering solution to production/manufacturing/assembly and other related concerns on a daily basis.
To provide sustaining activities on existing product ranges EN & MIL AERO Connectors. These will be modifications to existing drawings and will involve creating models using Solid works/Creo.
To work closely with the Global Engineering and project management team to support the transfer of work projects. Responsibilities includes reviewing and understanding the product design, release all drawings, assembly instructions and other engineering documents to help smooth transfer.
To carry out any other reasonable tasks as may be requested from time to time by the Engineering Manager.
To observe Health and Safety regulations as laid down in company procedures and Government legislation.
Candidate Desired Profile:
Experience in 3D modelling package – Creo and Solidworks
Experience in Product life cycle management.
Good Knowledge and hands on experience in PDM windchill & PLM software.
Good Knowledge of manufacturing processes like Molding, Stamping, Plating and other Metal Forming and plastic miniaturing processes. Knowledge in additive manufacturing process.
Hands on experience in design tools such as GD&T, DFMEA, DFM, and Tolerance Stack ups.
Experience in Product Design involving Plastic and Sheet Metal parts.
Good Problem solving and Analytical Skills.
Knowledge of statistical process control methodology, DFSS is an advantage.
Product Testing & Qualification exposure is an advantage.
Product knowledge on connector is an advantage.
Strong Technical Aptitude with Willingness to learn new Technologies.
Exposure & Knowledge on Electrical system design will be added advantage
Knowledge of six sigma tools will be an added advantage.
Knowledge of Global Certifications and Regulatory Standards (EN, MIL etc.) will be an added advantage.
