CATIA V5 Essentials

CATIA V5 Essentials

Learn Sketching, Part Design, 3D Features, and Assembly Modeling through Practical Projects.

This course teaches CATIA V5 step by step, starting from installation and basic interface navigation to advanced 3D modeling and assembly creation.

You begin with sketcher tools, plane selection, and the fundamentals of part design. Then you move into key modeling features like pads, pockets, ribs, slots, grooves, and transformation tools that every design engineer must know.

The course includes multiple practice drawings to help you apply your skills and understand real modeling workflows.

You will also learn assembly modeling by creating components like the top plate, guide pillar, and bottom plate, and then combining them into a complete press-tool assembly.

No prior CATIA experience required

What to expect from this course

You will learn how to install CATIA V5, explore the user interface, work with mouse gestures, and open part design with the correct plane selection. You will also become comfortable with basic sketcher tools.

You will learn the core sketching and part design tools including rectangles, circles, splines, ellipses, lines, and axes. This helps you build accurate sketches for any 3D model.

You will move into advanced modeling tools such as pads, pockets, ribs, slots, grooves, and transformation features. This teaches you how to create complex and detailed components.

You will work through multiple 3D practice drawings that help you understand real-world modeling workflows and how to convert engineering sketches into 3D parts.

You will learn assembly modeling by designing individual components like the top plate, guide pillar, and bottom plate, and then putting them together to create a complete press-tool assembly. This gives you hands-on experience with actual industry-style projects.
